Mystical Creations

I Studied Art at East Los Angeles College. Started Teaching myself computer graphics, animation, and programming on the Commodore 64 and Amiga computers in the 1980s as there were no colleges teaching these skills back then. I also did traditional freelance illustration for about 6 years in the mid-'90s. Then I had an opportunity to work at California State University, Chico as one of their graphic artists, which led to me becoming a senior computer graphics and animation artist there. While there I worked with many state agencies, faculty, and staff as well as helped teach and direct interns in many different programs, such as Maya, Sketchup, Photoshop, Painter, Premier, After Effect, Zbrush, Substance Painter, Unreal Engine, and many other programs and hardware for creating computer graphics, animation, and special effects. I worked there for about 24 years but had to retire early due to family issues and my son's disabilities. With the free time I now have, I am trying to experiment with AI technology and intermixing this with my other skill sets. It's all been an amazing ride and I feel like I have been very blessed to have been able to be a part of the digital art and animation community's growth, yet at the same time have a traditional artist background. I believe it takes a special skill set to accomplish beautiful art, either traditionally or through computer software, and to me, the computer and its software/hardware are just another tool for artists to use to express themselves, both can take a tremendous amount of work and skill to accomplish. I try to merge my skill sets of both traditional as well as digital methods and techniques together in my artwork.
