\\\\ What I Create //////////
I create illustrations and fine art of portraits, animals and nature. My work is heavily influenced by animals and fantasy but I also love to create things which are only affected by our emotion. I have a lot of passion in experimenting with different mediums and subjects, and this will show in my listings.
\\\\ How it all started //////////
In my student years I studied an interdisciplinary approach to art and explored the different avenues of access into the art world. Through my exploration I found a love for illustration and painting. I decided to go full-time with my art to show the world this love and passion for creativity.
I first tried my hand with children's books and released one on Amazon called 'Goof with the Tooth'. This taught me the patience and sustainability of a book project and then I decided to create adult colouring book pages. The aim of this book was to create a unicorn book with flowers, but the project died off when I found selling my prints on Etsy to be a much better chance to succeed. I always enjoy drawing with ink and I can see this becoming a future project.
People love my work and is very inspirational to many, which is one of my drives for creating work in the first place. It is a massive challenge I hope to make this fledgling business a success. I have learned so much about business and art so far while working on Etsy since April 2017. I am exploring many subjects and styles every day and this is something I could never have done in a studio.
\\\\ How I create /////////
My mediums vary a great deal and when the colours and textures I want cannot be create eaily with paints or pencil, I use digital software to create my work. When I doget messy and work with my hands I prefer acrylic and oil for its more gooey texture. I do also enjoy using watercolour for those little highlights of colour on a picture.
I do a lot of work in my sketchbook and most of my ideas are generated through this medium. I am inspired by everything around me and all kinds of artists. I have recently been trained by a slew of professional artists from Disney, Pixar, Dreamworks and Imaginism Studios via Schoolism, this has propelled my skills and I will love to bring to you in prints what I have learned from these artistic legends.
My illustrations are inspired by fantasy stories and fairy-tales. I love to see how quirky and whimsical I can create my stories. My most recent goals are to only use reference as a beginning and redesign creatures and environments using the knowledge I have acquired over the years.
For my more abstract work I think of past experiences and things which are happening in the world and in my life, I then randomly, using these feelings, paint shapes/colours/lines to produce a piece of modern art. I apply a few rules to my abstract paintings to make sure they look appealing for people to look at.
