I’m Rian. It’s nice to meet you. I’m a visual artist and storyteller based in Melbourne, Australia.

From a young age, I have been fascinated with stories about odd characters who find dissatisfaction in their current reality and instead seek solace in friendships with strange creatures and adventures in far-off lands. I have developed a more mature lens on this fascination; delving deeply into what it means to be human, to belong, the connections made and the identities assumed. Creatively, I’m interested in exploring dichotomies: where and how they collapse in on themselves, and discovering the multiple truths within. Particularly, I love to explore the duality of the performance between the private self and the public persona, light and dark, love and hate, reality and fantasy.

I explore these themes through multidimensional works that engage audiences through their implicit stories, depth, and participatory nature.

I believe that everyone is inherently creative, it is just all about redefining creativity's value in society.
