About: Ricardo Machado born (1983) in Sao Miguel island (Azores, Portugal). Studied at Ar.Co Arts Centre (Lisbon, Portugal).

He participates in solo and group exhibitions since 2005, amongst his relevant shows we can call attention to the "Azorean Scrimshaw" project presented at the Gallery Carré d’artistes Paris (France) and at the Gallery Rising Artist (Art Fair Artexpo New York, U.S.A). He is pioneer in recreating the scrimshaw in the field of plastic arts. Finalist in the international competition "FLORENCE SHANGHAI PRIZE", "See | Me Launch Competion" and selected to join the displays "LABJOVEM 3rd, 4th and 5th Editions". His work is present in the private collection of Bartolomeu Cid dos Santos and in the public collection at the Cultural Center of Ponta Delgada (Azores, Portugal).
