Robin grew up across the lake from Nelson. Her family had a homestead surrounded by unkempt forest. She loved to explore the wild as a kid and she expresses her child like wonder of the natural world in her paintings. Her Parents enrolled her in art classes at a young age which challenged her and helped to hone her skills. Her Nana: known by some as Nana Shroom, lived just up the road and was also an artist. Robin learned a lot and her Nana’s influence shows in her paintings. She later enrolled at Kootenay School of the Arts where she explored other mediums and went on to graduate with honours. Robin still lives in Nelson and Paints to create peace for herself and to celebrate the natural beauty that surrounds her at home in the Kootenays.
