Shana Treon

Shana Treon’s recent work is fueled by her love of cities - their rhythms, sights, sounds and grit. She takes the rawness of urban elements (pipes, wires, graffiti, crumbling walls, rust, industrial landscapes) then twists, manipulates, pushes and pulls at them until a final representation is brought to life. One who spends time exploring Treon’s works will find unexpected layers and overlaps, while also discovering intimate brushwork that has revived color, line, movement, and dimension. Each work tends to offer up close and personal imagery that has been creatively combined and melded through the lenses of abstraction and photorealism.

By request, Treon recently pulled from her archives. Using pencil, paper, and a heartfelt nostalgia for the Lehigh Valley community, she offers vintage views of iconic eateries and covered bridges.

Treon holds a B.A. in Art from Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA (2004), and an M.A. of Art in Teaching in the Visual Arts from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA (2007). Outside the studio she is known as 'Coach Shana' as a Division 1 collegiate softball coach at Rider University, as well as a practicing Health and Life Coach certified through the Health Coach Institute.
