A rural upbringing led to a love of nature and the countryside that has stayed with him all his life.

Throughout his adult working life he has worked as a landscape photographer and the light and depth of his landscape images now shine in his paintings. He studied art and photography at Kent college of arts.

A move to the south coast of England in the 1980s started his journey into experimenting with painting and over the years he has taught art including acrylic, encaustic and mixed media to both private students and for the Hobbycraft chain in the UK.

Finally settling in Cornwall his journey with art developed into a complete love of the sea and the beautiful coastline of Southwest England which he paints with oils on canvas and sometimes on pieces of hardwood or driftwood found along the beach.

It has been said that you can walk into his paintings and that they make you wish you were there.

His studio is in the Tamar Valley overlooking the River Tamar and up to Dartmoor National Park, while the sea is just a stones throw away further down the river.
