Abbey Gonka is a visual artist residing in Los Angeles whose focus is abstract expressionism. She is a lifelong creative who began with coloring books and ceramics in elementary school, graphic design in high school and video editing during college. In 2017 she watched an abstract art lesson on YouTube and was inspired. When it comes to her abstract work Abbey relishes the journey, not the destination. She loves smearing paint with flat brushes and palette knives across large canvases and her enthusiasm for sprays of color literally knows no bounds—she’s accidentally splattered her furniture and walls of her bedroom studio with paint.

When Abbey isn’t painting she has provided her skills as a freelance video editor to small businesses, temped at staffing agencies where she decorated Christmas trees at LucasFilm Arts, and provided operational support to tech-startups and Hollywood companies.
