Spilt Sugar

The woman behind Spilt Sugar is Cheryl Willard. She is a photographer first and foremost but keeps very active as an aerial arts instructor, performer, model, and all-around artist of many mediums when she's not behind the camera.

She has been experimenting with photography since she was a child and started honing her lighting, directing, and composing skills since her early teens. At age 17 she completed her basic photography courses at Macomb Community College, but she found their program to be too commercial for her tastes in photography at the time. She decieded to teach herself with self portraiture and model castings for her conceptual work. She then sought out mentors for a few years and worked with photographer's she felt were inspiring and could help her find her own visions while learning from these local pro-photographers. Many skills over these years were learned from good-old-fashioned trial and error with both technical photographic elements and Photoshop experiments.

She recieved her Photographic Technology Certificate in 2010 with a 4.0 GPA. She continues to seek out new techniques for improvements in her work as she belives all artists are ever growing and changing.

She is available for hire for fine art and fitness sessions, head shots, events, model comps, performer's promotional photos (pole, aerial, circus acts, artists and bands), live performance, family, maternity, infant, and children's portraits (See www.CherylWillardPhotography.com), fashion and beauty advertising, and more.
