I've always been interested in the complexity of life and the relationship of humans to other organisms. While one way I have pursued understanding ecology is through research at universities, I find that I connect best with the rest of life through hiking, photography and artwork. In my artwork, I've recently begun transitioning from mostly simple line drawings into manipulating photos that I've taken over the years while hiking or backpacking, in an attempt to synthesize abstract and organic aesthetics.
