The descendant of both Mayflower settlers and a Finn who came to post WWII-America seeking love and a new life, exploration, grit, and the pursuit of what's better and brighter runs deep in Stacia Joy's veins. Bringing a modern upgrade to these values through digital media and an undercurrent of Feminism, her art and illustrations also draw heavily from traditional European and American motifs and design sensibility.

When not creating, she enjoys hiking with her niece, sharing knowledge of the natural world passed down by her Finnish grandmother. She also drinks a lot of black coffee, and loves engaging with stories that make her question, reconsider, and empathize in new ways.
