Hi. I’m Sue Cheer, a Dunedin-based artist and the founder of Story Pieces. I create mixed-media acrylic paintings that incorporate bright colours, pattern, and imagery from nature. I work intuitively to create layered, maximalist paintings that read like poetry or like our lives – the deeper we look, the more we discover. I’m inspired by the garden, botanical drawings, antique textiles, Japanese wood-block printing, and the British Arts and Craft movement.
