My name is Nathan Thiessen and I am a Canadian abstract artist. I am inspired by surfaces that are vibrant and yet heavily worn and textured, telling a story of their endurance over time. I work with pastel, acrylic, and oil, and will often cover my canvas and panels in drywall plaster before painting over them and degrading the surface. Some of my work is a digital hybrid of original art with photos of peeling and battered walls blended into them.
