Since I was old enough to pick up a pencil I have been creating images, on and with, anything I could get my hands on. After graduating high school in Ohio, I moved to Pennsylvania to attend college at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. After graduating College in 1994, I was hired at a design firm in Pittsburgh called “Group 2 Design.” While there I learned the ins and outs of the printing and design industry. I started in the darkroom, developing and creating rub-on transfers for production and mock-ups for the designers. I gradually worked my way into production assistant and eventually was given a chance to assist in the design process.
After three and a half years with Group 2, they came to a point that they needed to downsize in 1997. I found myself in a position to branch out on my own and started collaborating on designing websites with an individual I met while working at Group 2 Design.
In 1998 I moved to Nevada on the dream of working remotely and growing my business in web site design and Illustration. Unfortunately things did not work out as planned and after struggling to keep things afloat, I joined the Nevada Army National Guard in 2001 and left my art behind. I spent the next 12 years in the military and completed 2 tours in Iraq supporting Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. I returned home from my first tour in 2005 and in December was hired as a mechanic for Newmont Gold where I am still employed.
Close to 15 years since I left my art behind, I have been flooded with inspiration and started to get back to the reasons I loved art so much when I was younger. I have started airbrushing and creating original pieces of art that I hope to share with others. I wish for my artwork to evoke an emotion, inspire and bring joy to those who see it. My artwork brings me back to my childhood and gives me a place to escape while I am creating it; I hope that it does the same for you.
