Christmas Mouse

Christmas Mouse is Santa’s tiniest and sneakiest helper. She tip-toes around long after we fall asleep to make everything just right for the celebration of Christmas morning. She loves vintage Martha Stewart magazines, the illustrations of Tasha Tudor, and her childhood storybook, The Night Before Christmas, by Clement C Moore. To her, those inspired worlds are real - even if only moment by moment, and she fancies up the house in that modern traditional feel.

Laura White, also known as “Christmas Mouse”, began painting Christmas imagery on glass ornament bulbs in 1999 for an Estee Lauder Cosmetics gift-promotion. The public reception was so joyful that she decided to keep on painting glass ornaments and made her own tradition. Ever since then, the people who see one of the rare bulbs in person seem to catch a Christmas glow. Some say the painted images on them tell magical stories that can even bring color to the cold.

There are stories about snow-people all lined up to mail greeting cards, children baking cookies without grown-ups in their way, cats dancing on their hind feet, and villages lit up with shimmering anticipation. And there are profound and tender things happening, including the birth of baby Christ, of course!

After each bulb receives a unique painted story, Christmas Mouse takes pictures of them for remembrance. “I’ll share these painted stories on things besides fragile glass bulbs so people far and wide might feel my love for Christmas!” she exclaimed in a mouse whisper. Years later, Christmas Mouse discovered Society 6, where her darling paintings can be printed on all manner of attractive goodies. Enterprising creature that she is, Christmas Mouse knows in her heart that a sweet note card, a snuggly sweatshirt and inspired home decor with her art printed on it would make a thoughtful gift for anyone, at any age. Whoever sees one of these goodies in person might just catch that legendary glow every year as they prepare for Christmas.
