WingDing Jubilee began as a secret space for me to create custom journals (meditation journals), housewares, and women’s clothing and t-shirts with my unique designs and funny sayings that make people smile. The name WingDing Jubilee is a marriage of two words that both mean celebration, because I believe every day should be one… so much so that I had to say it twice!
I have always been a creative individual, drawing and painting was my love growing up. Unfortunately, my art instructor in high school told me pursuing art as a career was a foolish choice, so I reluctantly packed up my paints.
Later in life, I went to graphic design school, purely to indulge my desire to be creative, I really didn’t see a career coming from it at the time, and eventually allowed my illustrations to be put on the shelf.
On September 11, 2019, I was in a very serious car accident that I was incredibly blessed to survive. As I recovered, I came to the realization that life is too precious to waste it by not pursuing your passion, so I began painting again! I was painting so much that my house became chock full of canvases and supplies! Im not great with packing and shipping my artwork so I started playing with Illustrator and Procreate again and was delighted to find a way to continue creating and share my work without the burden of packing canvases and stressing about shipping.
I’d love to share a little bit about my furry ‘coworkers,’ but my current residence does not allow pets, and I travel often so it doesn’t make sense at the moment to own any fur babies. I’ve volunteered at pet rescues for as long as I can remember, until the quarantine prohibited such activities. Going this long with out any interaction with cats (and dogs) has made my cat obsession out of control! I sketch a cat a day, and you’ll find plenty of catto and pupper designs in my stores!
I rarely watch TV, but I stumbled upon Real Housewives of Beverly Hills one night, and it has become a bit of a guilty pleasure. I’ll allow myself an episode (or two), whilst sipping my favorite glass of champagne or rosé, pretending to be as fabulous as they are! haha!
Thanks for reading this far and taking the time to visit my shop! If you ever have an Idea for a pattern or an item you’d like to see created, please! Reach out!
