I am a native New Yorker, relocated to Philadelphia after studying art at the University of Pennsylvania in the 70’s. Since then two careers, a family and three amazing children later, I continue to pursue outlets for my creativity in many ways. I found my latest obsession exploring the new craze of Zentangles. This is an elevated form of doodling that allows you to lose yourself in the exploration of form, line, negative and positive space, and the balance between larger bold patterns and smaller more intricate or delicate ones. Used as a means to find calm at the end of the day I find the creation of these miniature masterpieces totally addictive. I found a similar fascination exploring color in nature, looking at the delicate composition of flowers as line drawings by manipulating digital photographs. Ultimately my art is a search for tranquility and peace which I hope will transfer to those who view and or purchase it.
