Let me tell you a little story you might find amusing. As a very young boy in Burien, Washington I could spend hours sprawled on my stomach watching beetles up close going on their daily trek through the underbrush. Or you might see me peering into a microscope and finding beauty and incredible design in a drop of pond water.
At that young age my teachers would send home report cards to my parents that I could be a great scientist or biologist. Well, let me tell you I had them all fooled, every one of them. If it swam in the ocean, flew through the air above me, or walked the ground around me I was fascinated, because nature has always inspired me and it still does and always will.
My point of view, even at that very young age was that of an artist. The world of nature is one of extreme beauty, incredible textures, intricate design and a kind of special dynamic that I seek out in my art. I believe from a design point of view that nature is indeed perfect.
I guess if you feel a little bit of that in viewing my art here on Society6 then I have succeeded in every way.
